INTEGRATED SPORTS MEDICINE

We offer a comprehensive integrative approach to treating musculoskeletal injuries (acute/chronic) or pain for athletes and non- athletes. Integrated sports medicine is often called upon to treat athletes, especially when there is a soft tissue problem that does not heal properly or when their circumstances demand quick recovery.
what we do

Our doctors have helped in the swift rehabilitation of players, and have also successfully treated numerous middle aged or even elderly former athletes who had lost the ability to play their favorite sport. Our specialists aim to help them regain their original levels of fitness.

We use a hands-on diagnostic technique that is unique and comprehensive. We have successfully diagnosed and treated many patients. We pride ourselves in the continuous pursuit of knowledge, which allows us to provide our patients with the most up-to-date treatments and services.

Our orthopedic clinic provides the perfect environment for performing a variety of physical therapy techniques. Our staff of physical therapists will work with you in a state of the art facility. The combination of our qualified therapists and well-equipped orthopedic hospital is what makes Orthosports the premier service provider in Dubai. We can help you reduce pain and improve your motor functions and performance. Our experienced therapists excel in treating all orthopedic diagnoses such as shoulder pain, knee pain, low back pain, neck pain, plantar
fasciitis, and sprains/strains. Don’t condition yourself to a life of pain by blaming external factors such as age and weather. Walk in to our clinic for an evaluation and see if we can help.

We utilize numerous methods like joint and soft tissue mobilization, muscle energy techniques, PNF and manual stretching. These techniques along with the correct therapy will lead to positive outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Each patient undergoes a full evaluation by one of our skilled physical therapists. Treatment plans are designed on an individual basis. We tailor your program based upon your goals. Not all sports are the same, therefore not every patient should be treated the same. Our therapists pride themselves in their understanding of the individual sports and the kinesiology behind each sport required to play at the highest possible level.

The post-operative recovery period varies based on the surgery. Generally, patients are advised to take up to two weeks off work to recover from any surgery and to resume light duty following resumption of work. Your surgeon will provide specific instructions to follow for a successful recovery.
With just about any orthopedic surgical procedure, including joint replacement surgery and revision surgery (replacing a worn-out artificial joint from a previous surgery), you will experience some pain and swelling. Your doctor and clinical team will work with you to effectively manage your pain and ensure you recover as expected.
Many factors determine how long it will take for you to fully recover and see the benefits of orthopedic surgery. For some patients, recovery takes a few weeks. For others, it can take several months. Depending on your age, your overall health, the condition for which you were treated and the type of surgery performed.

In most cases, you will be discharged on the following day after the surgery or the day after. Physical therapy will maximize the benefits of your surgery. Discuss with your orthopedic surgeon to learn more about what your individual recovery plan.
While the goal of surgery is to restore function and get you moving without pain, there are usually some limitations after orthopedic surgery. Discuss with your orthopedic surgeon about realistic expectations after surgery.
Minimally invasive surgeries are performed using medical instruments and cameras that let doctors see the area being operated on without the need for large incisions. Minimally invasive surgery accomplishes the same treatment goals as traditional open surgery, but results in:

Less damage to surrounding muscles and tissues.
Less blood loss.
Shorter hospital stays.
Less scarring.
Speedier recovery times.

Arthroplasty is the reconstruction or replacement of a joint such as a shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee or ankle. Depending on the extent of the joint injury or condition, you may need partial or total arthroplasty.
Arthroscopic surgery is a type of minimally invasive surgery that requires only small incisions due to a device known as an arthroscope. It lets your surgeon see inside the body and view the specific area being worked on during surgery without the need for large incisions.
Joint replacement surgery is not applicable on patients who can be treated with non-invasive treatments. During this procedure, the orthopedic surgeon will replace the damaged joint with a prosthesis. These can be ceramic, plastic, or metal. Doctors typically recommend joint replacement surgery in cases of debilitating joint pain and damage where lifestyle changes, physical therapy, and injections don’t work.
A sports doctor focuses on nonoperative and nonsurgical treatments of sports-related conditions and injuries. Sports medicine surgeons (or orthopedic surgeons that specialize in sports medicine) focus on nonoperative, nonsurgical and surgical treatments.
Orthopedic injections can be used for relief from pain, stiffness, and inflammation. Some common conditions they treat include arthritis, nerve pain, and tendonitis.
