Biography

Dr. Sameh Abolfotouh is a highly accomplished and experienced board-certified consultant Orthopedics and Spine Surgeon at Medcare Orthopedics & Spine Hospital in Dubai, UAE. He completed his Orthopedics residency from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) / Weill Cornell Medical College, Doha, Qatar, and went on to complete two clinical spine surgery fellowships from the Centre of Spine and Orthopedics in Denver, CO, and the University of Missouri, USA. Dr. Abolfotouh is a Harvard Medical School alumni and one of the few surgeons around the world who graduated from the prestigious Harvard Medical School Surgical Leadership Program (SLP).

 

Dr. Abolfotouh has made significant contributions to the surgical field through multiple peer-reviewed papers published in prestigious journals. He holds many leadership positions, including serving as the AO Spine MENA Educational officer and board member, a member of the AO Spine Education Commission, a chair of the e-learning committee at International Musculoskeletal Society (IMS), and a board member of the Pan Arab Spine Society (PASS). Dr. Abolfotouh is a sought-after speaker and trainer, flying all over the globe to lecture and train surgeons on the latest surgical spine techniques.

 

Dr. Abolfotouh covers the vast majority of Spine Surgery pathologies, with a particular specialisation in minimally invasive spine surgery for spine deformity, including the latest lateral/oblique approaches. He also performs keyhole endoscopic surgeries. With his extensive experience and expertise, Dr. Abolfotouh is committed to providing the highest quality care to his patients and advancing the field of spine surgery through education and leadership. His dedication to educating and mentoring younger spine surgeons in underdeveloped countries through the AO Spine College Program is a testament to his commitment to improving the field of spine surgery globally.
